Mr. Davidson was appointed a Non-Executive Director on September 25, 2007 before taking up his current role as Board Adviser in April 2010. He is an experienced career banker, having successfully served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya Commercial Bank for four and half years until he took an early retirement. During his tenure at the bank, he engineered a major turnaround which saw the bank move from a loss-making enterprise to a significant profit-making public enterprise, with its market capitalization increasing from KShs. 3 billion to its current position at KShs. 56 Billion.
He has also served for over 30 years, in senior capacities within the CitiBank Group in London including Managing Citibank Kenya and South Africa being the Regional HO.
A Kenyan by birth, Mr. Davidson is a Council Member of the University of Nairobi, and a member of the Board of several leading enterprises including the Deposit Protection Fund. He has also served as the Chairman of the Kenya Bankers' Association on two occasions, and has previously served in the Board of the Federation of Kenya Employers.
