Fuels Business is the most elaborate of our 5 business segments and forms the core of our entire operations. We market and sell crude as well as various variants of white fuels including Premium Motor Spirit, Regular Motor Spirit, Automotive Diesel, Industrial Diesel, Bitumen, Kerosene, and Jet A1 (Aviation) Fuel.

Fuels are generally homogeneous products from the same source, transported the same way and are generally sold in a similar manner. The market for fuels is therefore very competitive since product differentiation is closely tied to the marketer's corporate reputation. We have identified ourselves as the fuels supplier of choice through our innovative approach to marketing and competitive pricing.


Over the years, we have cultivated a strong corporate brand identity and reputation characterized by top class customer service and branding of our various fuel facilities including Service Stations and distribution trucks. Our good corporate reputation coupled with supply reliability and competitive pricing are the reasons we are the preferred fuels marketer in all of our markets.

Because of its expansive nature, the Fuels Business segment is further subdivided into Retail Sales and Commercial Marketing.

 
Retail Sales
Within the retail function of our Fuels Business segment, we market and sell motor fuels, K-gas, Kobil, Kenol and Castrol lubricants as well assorted non-fuel supplies including car care products, car accessories, cooking gas accessories and other non-fuel supplies through our expansive networks of Kenol and Kobil Service Stations in all the countries we are represented.  In most of these countries, we are market leaders and are renown for our excellent customer service culture and beautifully designed and safe Service Stations as well as a highly recognizable corporate brand.

 

We offer our retail customers the most convenient ways to fuel through our Service Stations. In addition to cash payments for fuel and other non-fuel purchases, we have innovated various fuel management systems to make fueling at our outlets an enjoyable experience. For the Kenyan market, we have K-Card which is an electronic fuel management system that offers its holders huge discounts. We have similar advanced fuel management systems  for our other subsidiaries.

Commercial Marketing
Through our Commercial Marketing segment, we supply Fuels, K-gas and Lubricants in bulk to our commercial clients. We are major suppliers of these products in all the countries we have business presence. In all these countries, we supply all sectors of the economy including power generation and distribution, aviation, agriculture, manufacturing, construction, transportation and mining.

Our commercial clients range from small scale private enterprises to large scale establishments such as manufacturing firms as well as large state corporations and governments.

The Commercial Marketing segment is one of the fastest expanding business line within the KenolKobil Group because of our reliability and excellent customer service which are hallmarks of our every business process.


Aviation
We are the supplier of choice for Jet Fuel to most of the commercial and cargo airlines in Kenya. We supply the Jet A1 aviation fuel variant to major international and local airlines flying into and out of East Africa on both long term and short term agreements. We have two large aircraft refueling services at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi and at Moi International Airport in Mombasa. Currently, we market aviation fuel only in Kenya but plans are underway to introduce the product in other markets in Africa.
